A Leading Example of Child Care and Early Childhood Education

On May 20, 2021, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona toured Bright Beginnings Child Development Center.  They came to Bright Beginning to promote President Biden’s American Families Plan, “an investment in our kids, our families, and our economic future.”  The plan aims to give all three- and four-year-old children access to free preschool and provide all Americans with two years of free community college.  There are other components to the plan, but the focus of the plan is to invest in early childhood and post-secondary education.  This is reinforced by Governor Cooper’s statement that education is “cradle to career.”

In following Governor Cooper’s understanding that education is lifelong, Bright Beginnings prides itself on “jumpstarting” a lifetime of learning, building the skills and confidence children use in their future academic and life journey.  The Governor referred to our staff as heroes during the pandemic, providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children of first responders and essential workers who needed to go to work to keep this country functioning.  At Bright Beginnings, we pride ourselves on providing a family atmosphere where love and learning go hand-in-hand.

Governor Cooper knew Secretary Cardona would be impressed with Bright Beginnings, as he has visited on several occasions in the past and he knows we are a 5-star rated childcare and preschool provider that has made a difference in the lives of many children and their families.  See what Governor Cooper and Secretary Cardona had to say in their post-visit interview video below (click on play button in the lower left-hand corner of the article picture).
