The Creative Curriculum® System
Bright Beginnings uses The Creative Curriculum® System as its primary tool for preparing Preschoolers for Kindergarten and Beyond! At its core, the Creative Curriculum® philosophy is based on 5 fundamental beliefs that are strongly supported by theoretical and empirical research:
- Constructive, purposeful play is the best vehicle for measuring learning
- The development of social competence is a key focus of the preschool years
- Relationships are the foundation for learning
- Curriculum and assessment must be linked
- Families are essential partners in children’s learning
The Creative Curriculum® promotes the use of interest areas as a way of providing experiences that promote the 4 major areas of child development and learning: Cognitive, Social-Emotional, Physical and Language.
The idea behind the Creative Curriculum® is that young children learn best by doing. Learning is not just repeating what someone else says, it requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world we live in.
The most important goal of the Creative Curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners.
We maintain small classroom sizes for all of our children, from our Infants (3
months to 12 months) to our KinderPreps (4 and 5 years old). Through low student
to teacher ratios and consistent, annual training, our teachers provide the
children with the attention and support they need.
